RJ System File Checker - Getting a lot of Illegal Operations? The problem may be with old versions of system files conflicting with new versions of the same system files. On Windows-based systems, particularly with Windows 95 and 98, software applications that you install may install an updated system file. But instead of replacing an old system file, it often puts the new system file in its own application folder. The problem that occurs is that other applications that use this system file will load the old version from your System folder. Then you run the new application that uses the same system file, but uses the newer version instead. The problem is that only one copy of the system file can be in memory at a time, so the new program will try to do something that does not exist in the old system file, thus causing the "Illegal Operation".

RJ System File Checker scans your system for duplicate system files and eliminates the old versions. You have the option of having RJ System File Checker automatically do the work for you and reporting on what it did, or you can have it present a listing of all duplicate system files and version information to determine the best course of action. RJ System File Checker will also back up all system files it removes, so that you can easily restore a system file that is needed.

We at RJ Solutions recommend using RJ System File Checker with care, as carelessly removing system files can make your Windows operating system completely inoperable--even possibly preventing Windows from booting. The automated facility does function well, but you should review what actions were taken when the process completes.

Please Note: There is a reported problem with the registration key of RJ System File Checker. If your Regional settings in Control Panel use a date format other than "mm/dd/yyyy" (the USA format--Month first, then day, then year), RJ System File Checker will have difficulty recognizing your Registration key as valid. If you encounter this problem, temporarily changing your regional settings to English (US) will solve this, but RJ System File Checker may need to be set this way every time you run. I apologize for this problem, and when I am able to get back into the code I will fix the bug--but at this time no fix is planned.

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

2. LIMITATION OF USE

RJ System File Checker (the "Software") is free to use for your use for a period of 15 days, beginning with the first time it is run. At the end of this period, you MUST purchase the registration key to continue using the Software. In most cases, this software will not function beyond the "Please Register" nag screen after the evaluation period has expired. There are several ways of purchasing the registration key, all of which can be found by following the hyperlinks at http://rjsolutions1.com. You may also purchase the key online by clicking on the "Register Now" icon found on the "Please Register" and "About" screens.

You may use the registered version of the Software on a single computer. You may install and use the unregistered version of the Software on any number of computers. To use the registered version of the Software on multiple computers, you MUST purchase a registration key for each computer.

You MAY NOT reverse engineer the Software in any way, including (but not limited to) cracking the registration key. The Software is written in such a way that attempts to crack the registration key can make the Software inoperable. Any reverse engineering of the Software, including (but not limited to) the cracking of the registration key is a violation of this license agreement and will subject you as the user to punitive action.

3. RJ SOLUTIONS PRIVACY POLICY

When you purchase the registration key directly from RJ Solutions, you will provide certain personal information, such as you email address and (optionally), your mailing address. This information is kept in the strictest confidence and will not be distributed. Your email address may be used to notify you of updates to this Software or of new software offerings.

RJ Solutions has teamed up with RegNow! (http://www.regnow.com), a separate entity, to offer the registration key for purchase online. When you purchase the registration key, you will be covered under their privacy policy, viewable at http://www.regnow.com/privacy.html. The information you supply to purchasing company is made available to RJ Solutions (except for financial information), which will keep your personal data private as according to this privacy statement.

Other third-party vendors may be involved in the sale of the Software, and if so, their privacy policy can be obtained from their site. A link to their privacy policy (if other than RegNow!) will be offered on the Software's order page.

If you wish to not receive email notifications as laid out in this privacy statement, you may be removed from distribution by following the instructions provided in the emails you receive.

(Please note that the company you purchase the registration key from may be different depending on how you obtain this software due to various affiliation agreements.)

4. INDEMNITY

You agree to indemnify and hold RJ Solutions, and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, co-branders or other partners, and employees, harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, your use of the Software, or your violation of the License Agreement. Depending on the nature of the Software, the Software may be designed to take action that could potentially damage other software on you computer, including (but not limited to) the operating system. RJ Solutions claims no liability to damage caused by the use or misuse of the Software, so therefore it is your responsibility to take care in using the Software, including performing standard backups.

5. NO RESALE OF SOFTWARE

You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit for any commercial purpose any portion of the Software, use of the Software, or access to the Software, unless explicit written permission is granted to you. You may freely distribute the unregistered and unmodified version of the Software. You may distribute ONLY the original installation file. Any cost you charge may be to cover the cost of the distribution media only, unless explicit written permission is granted to you.

6. MODIFICATIONS TO SOFTWARE

RJ Solutions reserves the right to modify the software in whole or in part, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice. You agree that RJ Solutions shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Software.

7. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

YOU EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT: a. YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS". RJ SOLUTIONS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. b. 8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

YOU EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT RJ SOLUTIONS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DAMAGES OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES (EVEN IF RJ SOLUTIONS HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES) RESULTING FROM (i) THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE, (ii) STATEMENTS OR CONDUCT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SOFTWARE, OR (iii) ANY OTHER MATTER RELATING TO THE LICENSE AGREEMENT.

9. EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. ACCORDINGLY, SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OF SECTIONS 7 AND 8 MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
